Affordable Quality Lighting Inc. was founded by a husband and wife team of Thomas J. Piana III and Cynthia M. Piana. We increased our size by acquiring several other companies, such as C/C Lighting as well as DieCast Plus & Go Green Planet Savers.

Tom is a 3rd generation general and business owner with over 34 years of remodeling and building private homes along with commercial properties. He closed this firm after nearly 3 decades based on the fact that being exclusively in the lighting business allows him more time with his most cherished possessions... his 3 girls and wife, Cynthia (pictured below).

Tom's general contracting firm had a triple "A" rating with clients ranging from your every day home owner to celebrity homes and popular commercial establishments. However, if you ask Tom what his favorite projects were when he was a general, he will tell you with his trademark big smile, working with the every day home owner. This love of working with home owners is another reason why he wanted to stay in an industry that would allow him to continue working with the public after closing his firm.

Tom's passion for home improvement stemmed from helping his father build homes and install lighting in Southern California since the age of 16. Tom's father's passion for lighting and construction came from working with his father (Tom's grandfather) who learned his trade in Palermo, Italy before the Pianas came to Ellis Island, New York in 1926.

Cynthia successfully operated a well known interior design firm in California for over 13 years. She has an extensive background and a degree in interior designing with exclusive membership with the American Society of Interior Design (ASID), Interior Design Society (IDS), Western Home Furniture Association (WHFA) and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). Needless to say together, they are a match made in heaven. Not only because this marriage produced three beautiful girls but it also brought together a top notch and developer with one of the most talented interior designers. Cynthia closed her firm for the same reason as her husband, Tom... to spend more time with their children.
