One of the biggest problems with small fixtures such as these “puck lights" is that when they are used with the standard halogen bulbs, they get hot. One reason is the Halogen JC Bulb in itself generates quite a bit of heat and when you throw this into a small fixture such as this puck light, it of course causes the fixture itself to get hot!
This is not unusual and thousands of units have been sold like this by us as well as other companies for many years, and you simply had to live with it. Some people complained that this generated too much heat over their counter top when used as an undercabinet light or just when used inside cabinets.
