MATERIAL
The Star Panels are offered in your choice of 3 different materials:
1) OmniFissure 23 5/8" square by 5/8" Thick Acoustic with a One-Hour Fire Rating (used for most residential and commercial applications)
2) Ceramic Heritage 23 5/8" square by 5/8" Thick Acoustic with "Ceiling Zero" Fire Properties (Coast Guard Approved) meaning it can be used on boats, ships, yachts, etc.
3) Shiny Acrylic 23 5/8" square by 1/4" Thick Sheeting
What's the difference between the Acoustic Material and the Acrylic Material?
The Black Acrylic Material is not only our most popular, but it provides a more realistic night sky effect because of its smooth, shiny, and clean look. (click here for a closeup image) Acoustic panels are simply that, and acoustic panel that we paint in black (click here for a closeup image). Acoustic panels are generally found in most commercial establishments and . They are the panels that have that texture / holes / crevices. We are sure that you have seen them, in fact, if you are in an office, there are probably many over your head right now. Once again, we take one of these panels, paint them black, and insert the bulbs, etc. (click here for a closeup image) |

MOUNTING
For T-Bar Ceilings: The Star Panel are designed for T-Bar ceiling mounting and will simply drop in.
For Surface Mounting: The Star Panels are designed for T-Bar ceilings. However for surface mounting, keep in mind, when you surface mount the acoustic panel, it will protrude (stick out) 5/8" from the surface, and if you buy the acrylic panel, it will stick out 1/4" from the surface (based upon the depth in the above dimensions). We are not responsible for any damages that may occur to your ceiling or to the star panels. We are also not responsible if surface mounting ends up not working for your application. PATTERNS
You can select either a random bulb pattern or one of many constellations (listed below and offered at an additional charge).
RANDOM PATTERN
Random pattern means the bulbs will be placed in a random pattern and the bulbs will come in 3 different brightnesses to better simulate an actual night sky. No two panels will ever be exactly the same.
OPTIONAL CONSTELLATIONS
Constellations are offered as an available option preinstalled to Star Panels. In addition, the star panel will come with a few randomly installed bulbs to better simulate this constellation in an actual night sky. Below are the available constellations to choose from.
