 Our PSD333 Shown to the right is Electroplated in Antique Bronze which is then hand brushed to achieve a distinct look. Please keep in mind that the beauty of the hand brushing process will ensure that no two fixtures will exactly match. This way when you buy this Antique Bronze finish, you know you are not receiving a mass produced machine made finish that does not let your fixture look authentic. If you are looking for fixtures that will better match each other, then you may consider purchasing our Powdercoated finishes.
What is electroplating?
Electroplating is the deposition of a metallic coating onto an object by putting a negative charge onto the object and immersing it into a solution which contains a salt of the metal to be deposited. The metallic ions of the salt carry a positive charge and are attracted to the part. When they reach it, the negatively charged part provides the electrons to "reduce" the positively charged ions to metallic form. |
