Unlike other units found at home centers and other websites, our unit can handle up to 50 watts. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND WHENEVER YOU HAVE A SMALL LIGHT FIXTURE (SMALL APERTURE) AND UTILIZE A BULB WITH A WATTAGE OVER 10 WATTS THAT ANY OF THESE FIXTURES WILL BECOME HOT TO THE TOUCH. OUR UNIT'S SOCKET AND MATERIAL IS DESIGNED TO HANDLE THE HIGH WATTAGE OF UP TO 50 WATTS BUT OF COURSE, THE HIGHER THE WATTAGE, THE HOTTER THE FIXTURE WILL GET - SOMETIMES TOO HOT TO TOUCH. OUR UNIT AS WELL AS ANY OTHERS WILL DO THIS BASED ON SHEER PHYSICS. SO IF YOU PLAN TO USE OVER 10 WATTS, PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE PLACED IN A LOCATION WHERE THEY WILL BE LESS LIKELY TO BE TOUCHED.
